Tamiya TRF416 World Edition

Here are the first pictures of the new Tamiya TRF416WE, which where posted in Japanese RC Magazine lately. There's still not much information about this car. The official press release will be at the 18th of October at the Tokyo Hobby Show, but for now here's what we've got. The TRF416WE will be equipped with a standard front spool, aluminum steering brace, one piece upperdeck, new motormount and different drive-belts. The new kit will have item number #42138 and will cost around 75800¥ (540 Euros). Tamiya will also introduce their new Volac brushless ESC and Transpeed brushless motor. This new brushless system by Tamiya is based on LRP products, the Volac ESC is equal to a LRP Sphere TC and Transpeed motor to a LRP X11 Vector. The ESC will cost around 33495¥ (240 Euros), the motor 13650¥ (95 Euros) and will be avaible in 3.5T, 6.5T and 7.5T.

Tamiya will release a new touring car for the World Championships which are held in November 2008 in Thailand. The 'new' TRF416 will be just an upgraded version of the very successful current TRF416. The TRF team had already dominated the Euros with Marc Rheinard in first, Viktor Wilck in second and Jilles Groskamp just missed the third place due a pinion error. The Tamiya TRF416 had also won the; ETS Series, LRP Masters, ICC Rubber Modified, DHI Cup, Worlds Warm-Up and the JMRCA Nationals.

We presume that the TRF416 Words Edition will be fully hopped with all the features which will be used at worlds; a front spool, one piece topdeck, a aluminum or carbon steering brace, blue titanium Turnbuckles, a new motormount, different suspension blocks (like 1C-1C and 1XA-1F), 44mm drivershafts, harder springs and short arms.
